The newest Google Phones is one of the most awaited smartphones this year. According to latest reports, Google may drop the Nexus branding in favor of Pixel. This year's the Google phones will reportedly come in two versions: the Pixel and the Pixel XL. The Pixel and Pixel XL are developed by HTC, a Taiwan-based phone maker. The Pixel is the smaller variant with 5-inch screen display, while the Pixel XL sports 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display. The larger Pixel XL also has larger battery capacity.
Aside their from sizes, the two smartphones are nearly the same, according to a report from CNET. Both are powered by Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 graphics. They also have at least 32 GB of internal storage.
For camera technology, the Pixel smartphones have 13-MP main camera and 8-MP front snapper. The upcoming handsets also run on Android 7.0 Nougat, the latest mobile operating system of Google.
As for the release date of Pixel and Pixel XL, Google is now ramping up its marketing machine. The Mountain View-based company is putting up billboards and statue all over New York City to let people know about its upcoming October 4 event. Many believe it would be the launching of Pixel smartphones.
With smartphone-shaped white outline, the ads tease fans for the next month's event that would take place somewhere in New York. Also, there's #MadeByGoogle hashtag popping up on the internet, ensuring gadget lovers are aware that Google will launched a new product next month.
The smaller Pixel smartphone could cost around $650, which is a usual price range for next-generation devices. On the other hand, the larger Pixel XL will definitely cost more because of its higher specs.
According to Android Police, the Pixel and Pixel XL will come in three color options: black, bright blue and aluminum. In the United States, we expect both will be available on Google's Store and Verizon.
Interestingly, the two upcoming smartphones have support for Google's Daydream VR platform. It is reported that the company has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on ensuring that there will be plenty of VR content for the Pixel smartphones.
Alongside with the Pixel smartphones, Google will might launch its virtual reality headset, which could be priced around $80.
