The Cleveland Browns cannot seem to catch a break in their quarterback choices. In the previous NFL season, they had their hands full with Johnny Manziel and his issues off the gridiron. Armed with optimism in the offseason, the team later on signed Robert Griffin III and named him starting quarterback. However, it looks like the Cleveland Browns might have to splurge again for the same post as a Colin Kaepernick trade is expected to be the solution to their injury problems.
The relationship between the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick have been rocky since last NFL season. Despite the entry of Chip Kelly, who is a known Kap fan, the quarterback still struggled to find his place in the roster especially with Blaine Gabbert looking promising this year. Moreover, Colin Kaepernick trade talks have widespread in the league with the Denver Broncos almost signing the star before they chose to go with Mark Sanchez instead and draft Paxton Lynch.
However, it seems that not all hope is lost for Colin Kaepernick. Rumors are rife that the Cleveland Browns are seeking ways to not put this season to waste again with a problematic quarterback. Taking cue from the harsh lessons they learned during the Johnny Manziel era, speculations are floating on the decision of the Cleveland Browns to sign a Colin Kaepernick trade this season.
"It's very unfortunate, Robert came in and has worked extremely hard to learn our offence and earn the respect of his teammates," shared Hue Jackson. The Cleveland Browns head coach added, "This is a tough loss because everyone has seen how invested he has been in this team and his dedication to the work needed to improve his craft. We all know these are the realities of the NFL, injuries occur and you have to find ways to overcome them so they don't impede your progress."
The San Francisco 49ers have been receiving pressure from their fans to sign a Colin Kaepernick trade. At this point, though, the parties involved have yet to officially comment on the NFL trade issue. Right now, RG3 is looking into trying to save his season while the Chip Kelly squad attempt to overcome all the issues of Kap outside the gridiron.
What do you think? Should the Cleveland Browns splurge on a Colin Kaepernick trade to avoid another Johnny Manziel season? That is, should the team lose hope that RG3 will recover and lead them this year?
