Fans of sports games are looking forward to the latest edition of NBA 2K with NBA 2K17. This year's version has a lot of terrific new features, with one being a new roster as well as updated League Expansion. Something else that is new is the My NBA 2K17 application, which is required to access some of the new features. Some of these features can be tried out before the release date thanks to NBA 2K17 The Prelude.
NBA 2K17 New Features
Even though a lot of teams are not going to be making the roster, players will have a chance to play the USA Dream Team of the 1992 Olympics. By the way, this is downloadable content, but if you pre-order the game, it is free. Also available is the 2016 USA Basketball Men's Team, not to mention the Australian Boomers.
There is also League Expansion, allowing NBA 2K17 players to form a League of 30 teams to even 36. The teams can be based on classic teams that the player is familiar with, and as users increase the size of their league, the game aligns the necessary team divisions. It has Euroleague, draft lotteries, and schedule assignments so you can really feel like a basketball boss, to the point of designing logos.
Also recently revealed via Facebook are new classic MyTeam Cards made for those that pre-order the game, featuring Kobe Bryant, Paul George, and Michael Jordan. Speaking of players, there is a new Player Rating system created to tell the game's simulation how good each real-life player compares to their gaming persona.
The New NBA 2K17 Application for iOS and Android with My NBA 2K17
Something new arrived on app stores this morning with My NBA 2K17, and it allows it users to earn currency by trading in-game player cards. It is a chance for players to gain some game, along with access to 2K TV. It is interesting that the player can actually earn in-game currency away from the console as users invest in their players.
Also, if you want to get your face scanned onto a player, you will have to use this app. The PlayStation camera isn't going to be the way to go this time.
Official and Un-Official NBA 2K17 Release Date
The official Release Date for NBA 2K17 isn't until September 20th, however, a returning promotion known as Early Tip-Off Weekend make it possible for anyone to receive the game early. This is a pre-order that allows you to play the game on September 16th.
By the way, there are reports on Gotta Be Mobile about Midnight Release Parties at places like Best Buy and Gamestop, so you should probably look around your area to see if yours and other retail stores are offering such a deal.
If you want to experience it earlier than that, that is completely possible thanks to NBA 2K17 The Prelude, a demo of the game's MyPlayer and MyCareer features that arrived last week. According to Video Gamer, playing the MyCareer early will allow the player to pick his or her college and play before transferring progress over to the final game. Best of all, you can play it for free.
