Rumors about the next-edition Samsung Galaxy A5 are now circulating online. In a benchmarking website, it revealed the device will be shipped to India for performance testing. Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) release date, specs and rumors on the web.
The device was reportedly shipped from Samsung's home country, South Korea, to India, where it will have performance test. The specs of the device were not revealed, but the information can be considered as another leak.
GSM Arena reported the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) got 817 score on the single-core test and 4,692 on the multi-core test. The device is under the code SM-A520F.
Several tech website say this year's edition of Galaxy A5 will have 5.2-inch screen and Full HD display. Plus, it will sport metal and glass unibody. Inside, it will be powered by Exynos 7880 chip and 3 GB of random access memory (RAM).
The Exynos 7880 is an Octa-core CPU that has four Cortex-A72 at 1.87 gigahertz (GHz), four Cortex-A53 at 1.3 GHz and Mali-T860MP4 graphics processing unit. Tech experts say this processor will give performance boost to the upcoming Galaxy A5 2017. Also, it will be a significant upgrade from the 2016 model.
For operating system, we expect the device will run on Android Marshmallow. And then next year, it will be upgraded to Android Nougat.
There has been no news whether the 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-MP front camera of the current A5 will be improved.
For comparison, this year's A5 model has 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU which is partnered with 2 GB of RAM. It is also equipped with Adreno 405 GPU and 16 GB of internal storage. The latter is expandable for up to 128 GB via MicroSD card. The device become available with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right out the box.
A report from Sam Mobile says the next edition of A3, A5 and A7 will become available next year. The devices have the codes SM-A320F, SM-A520F and SM-A720F, respectively. For the 2017 model of A3 and A7, their specs and features are not yet revealed.
Meanwhile, The Verge reports Samsung may recall the Galaxy Note 7 worldwide. The drastic and unprecedented step would be a result of ongoing investigation about several incidents of explosion of Note 7's battery while charging. As of now, there have been 35 cases of battery explosion that have been reported globally.
