Baseball fans might have to wait for Tim Tebow to join the MLB as reports now surface that the New Orleans Saints are convincing the star to sign up as their Drew Bees backup. With the NFL regular season starting soon, the Louisiana team is said to be in dire need of a quarterback support who also has the confidence of both the community and the squad. Will this be the big break for Tim Tebow?
The Christian star, who recently wrapped up a charity trip to the Philippines to visit his pet projects in the Asian country, has been rejected multiple times by the 32 teams in the NFL. Starting off strong as a potential Hall of Fame inductee since he was named as the youngest ever Heisman Trophy winner in 2007, the NFL career of Tim Tebow surprisingly went downhill. Despite his notable performances with the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and New York Jets, the former Florida college football star failed to land more permanent gigs in the league.
This season, though, rumors are rife that the year has finally come for a Tim Tebow NFL return. Fans of the New Orleans Saints are eagerly anticipating the entry of the Christian star in their roster as speculations point to a minimum deal negotiated by both parties. Will this mark the big break of Tim Tebow in pro football? Will this now halt his future MLB career?
The answers are uncertain. At this point, none of the people involved has released an official comment on the matter. Right now, it appears that the New Orleans Saints are confident in their backups for Drew Bees. No door has been closed, though, as a Tim Tebow return to the NFL could still happen. It remains to be seen if it would be with the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Tim Tebow earlier shared his openness in going back to the gridiron if he is given the opportunity to do so. According to the former Denver Broncos star, he will never turn his back on football.
"I think if the right opportunity presents itself, I'll never say never," said Tim Tebow of his NFL career. He added, "But I'm so blessed doing what I'm doing with foundations and my new book and everything with the SEC and ESPN this year. I'm just grateful where I'm at and I'm excited about it."
What do you think? Should Tim Tebow give the NFL another shot? Or should he just pursue the MLB this time around? Will the New Orleans Saints be the best football team for him?
