Rumors about Nintendo's upcoming hybrid console are now circulating online. It is tipped to have detachable controllers, 6.2-inch ultra-clear screen and motion control support. Now, here's the latest round-up of update about Nintendo NX release date, specs and rumors on the web.
Popular blogger Emily Rogers (ArcadeGirl64) revealed on Twitter that the Nintendo NX prototype has 6.2-inch 720p multi-touch screen. She also said the prototype model of the device has dock station that can be connected via 2 USB port.
Upon reading the tweet, many users say 720p resolution on a 6-inch console might be impossible. This is because it might drain the battery faster and cause problems in the system. However, Rogers said the design of the console might change in the final product.
Eurogamer reported a month ago that the Nintendo NX is a hybrid console. The device can function as a handheld console, with its own controller and display screen. Also, it can be connected to an HD TV to play games on bigger screens. Gaming analysts say this versatility might the device's main selling point.
Furthermore, the controllers of NX might replace the Wii Remote in the future, as they share a lot of functions with each other. The controllers are also said to have advanced vibration force feedback.
In a recent interview with alistdaily, Head of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aime said the company is eager not to repeat past mistakes when releasing the NX console. He also added that the company would market the "uniqueness" of the console.
It is worth mentioning that the struggles of the Nintendo Wii U could be blamed for the company's failure to differentiate the device from its previous version, the Nintendo Wii.
Now, this so-called "uniqueness" of NX is still unknown. Nintendo has not yet revealed the complete specs and features of the device. The company only said it would be the first-of-its-kind console.
A report from Polygon says Nintendo NX could become available on March 2017. As for the system's launch library, it is rumored to come with Mario and Pokémon games.
Six months before the launching of the console, Fils-Aime promised that Nintendo would release more details. As of now, the company has not addressed many of the recent rumors, but we expect to know more in the next few months.
