Hundreds of PlayStation titles are coming to desktop computers. Head of PlayStation Network Eric Lempel announced earlier this week that over 300 PlayStation 3 games, including The Last of Us, Uncharted 3 and God of War 3, are making the jump to Windows PC via PS Now app.
PlayStation Now (PS Now) for PC is now accessible in the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands. The release date of PS Now on PC in the United States and Canada is not yet announced, but it is expected to become available next week.
For $19.99 a month, PS Now cloud gaming service allows subscribers to have unlimited playtime on old and new PlayStation titles. With the app's new Windows PC version, subscribers can now play PS games on their desktop computers.
To get started, you just have to register at the PlayStation Network's official website. After that, you need to download the PlayStation Now app for PC. Lastly, you have to connect a compatible controller to your desktop computer. It is recommended to use Sony's DualShock 4, which can be connected wirelessly via the USB Wireless Adaptor. The $24.99 Adapter will become available on September 15 in Europe and September 19 in the United States.
PlayStation Network officials do not directly say whether PS Now on PC will work even without the DualShock, but it looks like the controller would enable every feature of the application.
The recommended specs of PS Now on PC include Windows 7 operating system or higher, 2 GB of RAM or higher, sound card, USB connection and 300MB of storage. In addition, the application needs 1.33 GHz Quad Core Intel Atom CPU and Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU.
To have a lag-free, smooth gaming experience, PC users should have 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 CPU and GeForce GT 730 or Radeon R7 GPU.
The most important requirement of the application is 5Mbps internet connection. Sony also recommends users to connect their computer directly to the router.
As for the release of Mac support for PS Now, PR Manager of PlayStation Andrew Kelly said they are still evaluating the Mac version of the application. He promised to release more information as soon as possible.
With that being said, let's wait for more announcements from Sony. We'll keep you posted if there's new information. Visit this link to see complete list of PlayStation Now games.
