The San Francisco 49ers are slowly turning into a sinking ship as Chip Kelly has yet to resolve their quarterback crisis. While Blaine Gabbert is good to go in the games, fans feel that Colin Kaepernick is a better option. However, the audience's quarterback of choice appears to still be struggling in the gridiron. Hence, the former Philadelphia Eagles head coach seems to have finally caved to the solution he rejected initially - a Johnny Manziel minimum contract this season.
The fall of Johnny Football broke the hearts of many fans in the league. Set to become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL - one who could have been likened to the status of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Russell Wilson - Johnny Manziel got caught up in the off-field issues that eventually led to his dismissal from the Cleveland Browns. With Robert Griffin III comfortably settling in the vacated spot of the Texas star, it looks like another possible landing spot opened for Johnny Football.
"He knows he's hit rock bottom," shared a friend of Johnny Manziel regarding the NFL star's status. The source added, "He wants to play again. He really wants to turn things around and make people proud of him again. It's not going to end this way."
This is where the San Francisco 49ers come in. Rumors are rife that the Chip Kelly squad is hunting for a healthy quarterback. Under the steel iron rule of their new head coach, who refused to back down even in the face of a potential walk-out from then Philadelphia Eagles superstar DeMarco Murray, Johnny Manziel could blossom into the NFL star he was initially pegged to become.
"I'm actually doing well," shared Johnny Football of his condition despite getting kicked out of the Cleveland Browns this offseason. He added, "I have good friends around me supporting what I do and I try to support them in what they want to do. I'm not saying I'm never drinking again, but for now just mostly being healthy. I've got a killer gym in my house and I can spend time working out."
The former NFL quarterback further revealed, "I'm interested in doing a lot of different things in my life - including football - but, right now, I'm just exploring options and waiting to see what the future holds."
At this point, no official confirmation or comment has been released by any of the parties involved. What is certain, though, is that the Dallas Cowboys openly rejected a Johnny Manziel NFL return via their roster. From the looks of the Von Miller status, it appears that even the Denver Broncos are off the table.
