The Dallas Cowboys are openly on the lookout to add promising young football stars on their roster. Aside from their failure to sign Paxton Lynch in the 2016 NFL draft, a position they badly needed to fill due to the health of Tony Romo, the Dez Bryant squad also missed out on a chance to grab Joey Bosa. However, the rookie defensive end may be working his way to the Dallas Cowboys locker room just the same as reports point to an unannounced deal between the Dak Prescott squad and the San Diego Chargers.
The Joey Bosa contract stalemate with the San Diego Chargers brings all kinds of bad news for the Philip Rivers team. With the rookie off the gridiron as the NFL offseason training heats up, the defensive end is no doubt missing out on crucial workouts. However, it seems that a silver lining is presented to both parties. Are the Dallas Cowboys the answer to this stalemate?
"He definitely needs to be out here as a rookie," said Mike McCoy of Joey Bosa. The San Diego Chargers head coach added, "There's no update on his status. [General manager] Tom [Telesco] made his comments the other day, and it's the same today. We will just keep working at that, and eventually it will get done."
He added, "But he needs to be here. I think everybody needs to be here, especially as a younger player for the installations, playing with your teammates -- things like that. We are going to coach the guys who are here, and the players who were here did a nice job today."
Even before the 2016 NFL Draft started, Jerry Jones had been open with his desire to sign Joey Bosa. The Dallas Cowboys is short on the defensive end post especially in light of their move to no longer re-sign Greg Hardy. In the past NFL season, the 28-year-old star failed to impress the Tony Romo team and went on to disappoint fans with his off court behavior that included trash talking Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and sending lascivious comments to Gisele Bündchen.
Will Joey Bosa be donning the Dallas Cowboys uniform next season? Or will he and the San Diego Chargers finally work out their contract stalemate?
In the recent comment from the rookie's camp, his family feels that they should have pulled off a deal similar to that of Eli Manning during the latter's NFL draft. In 2004, the San Diego Chargers drafted Eli Manning. However, his dad Archie Manning told them that he did not want his son with the NFL team. Hence, the San Diego Chargers traded Eli Manning to the New York Giants.
What do you think? Should the San Diego Chargers just offer a deal with the Dallas Cowboys to execute a Joey Bosa trade? Will the rookie fit in with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant? Will he be a better NFL star than Greg Hardy?
