The Tim Tebow NFL return has yet to lose its momentum. The Christian football star, who played with the Denver Broncos before the Peyton Manning era and the New England Patriots alongside Tom Brady, is yet to land a deal with the teams this offseason. Among the NFL squads said to be mulling over a Tim Tebow are the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. However, the Green Bay Packers may have finally ended the Tim Tebow NFL drought. Will the Tebow Nation make a comeback as the sub for Aaron Rodgers next season?
The Green Bay Packers are turning out to be one of the strongest contenders for the next NFL season. Aside from a healthier and better Aaron Rodgers, the Brett Favre squad also looks forward to the return of Jordy Nelson. Apart from the two superstars, the Green Bay Packers fans are also eager to see a leaner and faster Eddie Lacy who suffered from bashers due to his weight last NFL season. Is Tim Tebow the next attraction for the team?
At the moment, the NFL team and Tim Tebow have yet to comment on the matter. However, rumors are rife that the Green Bay Packers are eager to welcome the Christian star in their roster. With the declining sales in the games of the Aaron Rodgers team, the entry of the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner would be a sure way to boost their popularity among fans.
In a recent interview, even Denver Broncos exec John Elway admitted that the Tim Tebow fandom is so huge that a trade involving the football star requires the entry of another equally popular quarterback. In the case of the Denver Broncos, they were only able to calm their fans when they brought in Peyton Manning to justify the Tim Tebow trade.
"Because (Tim) Tebow had such a fan base behind him -- there was probably only one guy that we could have replaced him with that people would understand," shared Elway. He added, "And that was Peyton Manning."
For his part, it looks like Tim Tebow has come into terms with a possibly disappointing NFL career. Pointing out that his current responsibilities, albeit non-football related, are all fulfilling for him. Moreover, the aspiring NFL star shared that he trusts God's plans to help him with his future.
"It's having faith that God has a plan and he's God and I'm not. And so I'm gonna trust whatever place God puts me and make as big of an impact as I can," shared Tim Tebow. He added, "And number two, I'm gonna focus on doing things that matter. I'm gonna focus on a life that matters. I believe the way we do that is impacting those around us, those people who need help."
On failing to make it in the NFL, Tim Tebow shared his frustration. While the former Denver Broncos star noted that he has been rejected a couple of times, he remains optimistic of his chances.
Tebow shared, There're different points. Whether you're sitting on the edge of the bed and you're thinking 'there're 32 [NFL] teams and nobody wants me' or 'no one wants me to do what I want to do.' Or you get another opportunity, and you don't make it. I've been cut four times. [Laughs] Well only three, but traded once, so it kind of counts as four."
What do you think? Should the Golden Bay Packers sign Tim Tebow? Will the Christian quarterback serve as good backup for Aaron Rodgers?
