Netflix Subscribers are always pleased to see what is coming, and the following is a list of what is new and arriving as well as everything that is leaving the streaming service as of August 2016.
Hightlights on Netflix for August 2016
One of the biggest franchises of the modern times is coming to Netflix as The Fast and Furious (the original, 2001) and Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift make an appearance. It's something to see before Fast8 hits theaters next summer, and both films in the racing/action franchise arrive at the beginning of the month.
In case you are interested in something different, but at the same time quiet, relaxing, and slow (being the active word), then you might want to try Slow TV. This is an unedited broadcast of mundane activities like knitting, boat travel, and even chopping firewood, all appearing as of August 5th. Also arriving overseas on the same date is an animated adaptation of French author Antione de Saint-Exupery's famous work The Little Prince.
Netflix will have some original programing with The Get Down, showing up on August 12. It is a period piece set in 1977 New York City with a romance that is also a music and dancing, from hit director Baz Luhrmann.
