At this point in time, there has been a lot of hype for the new version of the Samsung Galaxy Note. Even though it should be called the Note 6 (the follow-up for the Note 5), it looks like Samsung is going to be skipping a letter to be the Galaxy Note 7, to possibly compete with the iPhone 7. That, or it might have something to do with the fact that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge just came out, so now the smartphones and phablets will be in sync, number-wise. This is what is known about the Galaxy Note 7 release date, specs, and more on the new phablet.
According to Know Your Mobile, the Galaxy Note 7 will have 6 GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a brand new high-end camera as well as a lot of S-Pen stylus experiences and multitasking on the big screen better than ever. It is believed that the Galaxy Note 7 will feature a 5.8 inch QHD Super AMOLED EDGE display with signature curved screen edges as seen on the Galaxy S7. Apparently, you will only be able to get this EDGE version, so you won't have a choice like the Galaxy S6 or S7 smartphones.
The really cool thing is that there is new software for the S-Pen, which has a potential 500 plus GB of storage with a microSD card. Yes, it has a chassis redesign, and this is going to be quite something in the age of Apple iPhone 7 coming out. It's been rumored that Apple's iPhone 7 might be pretty plain vanilla this year, so it is good to see that Samsung will be doing something different.
There is a new leak showing an alleged spec sheet with 3,600 to 4,000 mAh cells for the battery. There is also a report saying that weight of the phone will be 169 grams, lighter than the Galaxy Note 5. Oh, there is also going to be that cool iris scanner as well.
According to Tech Advisor, it is possible to purchase a case even before it has been released. They also report the possibility of an always on screen as well as a USB Type C port. The port is really no surprise, as it seems like all the recent Android phones have been getting that.
There are apparently going to be three color options of silver titanium, blue coral, and a new gold color option. There is a fourth black onyx color rumored as well.
Well, we know that Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 7 will launch on August 2 in New York. The reason being is that they really want to be the first to the market before the iPhone 7 is going to be available. So it looks like 2016 is going to be the year of the "7."
