Those that missed the Season 2 Finale of CW's The Flash know that something big happened when Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) went back in time and actually saved his mother. There is a lot of speculation that Barry has somehow disrupted the timeline, and there will be repercussions on other DC CW shows such as Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and possibly Supergirl. Now there has been another big event planned for Season 3 as Kid Flash will be revealed, and this is what is known about The Flash Season 3 release date with Kid Flash news.
If you are not familiar with Kid Flash, he is the sidekick of the Flash introduced in the comics back in 1959, back when every major DC character had a teen sidekick. On the show, the Wally West character is played by Keiynan Lonsale, and these no doubt deliberately leaked photos is the first time that he has been seen in the super uniform.
When Season 3 premieres, it will be called "Flashpoint", which is famous DC storyline involving a similar event when Barry Allen saves his mother from murder. The Flash had to travel through time using his super-speed, but when he saved his mother, he altered the timeline drastically.
It is believe that the timeline is going to be altered in The Flash Season 3, and there is going to be some serious changes. Perhaps the presence of Kid Flash is going to be one of the changes, and they will get to the origin story of him soon enough. Kid Flash's original origin story was that he was struck by lightning in his uncle Barry's laboratory, and so he obtained Flash's super speed.
Of course, DC has rebooted its universe a number of times, which means that this origin story, which is based on incredible coincidence, has been made to be at least slightly more realistic in a world of superheroes. Speaking of reboots, the events from DC's Legends of Tomorrow Finale could have also had some effect on the plotline. Also, since Supergirl is now on CW, it would make sense if they altered the timeline so she could be part of the universe.
As far as what they can do for Kid Flash, the character has a lot of history. After Wally West was a sidekick for Barry, he joined a group known as the Teen Titans. It was soon revealed that since he had developed his powers as a teenager, they were killing him.
It was a huge event comic known as Crisis on Infinite Earths that had the Barry Allen Flash die, and West was somehow healed of his sickness. Wally West, now a man, then took on the mantle of The Flash for a while, at least until the DC Universe rebooted itself again so Barry is back. It would be very interesting if The Flash Season 3 followed Kid Flash's history and made it so Barry is somehow incapacitated (perhaps killed) and Wally West had to take over his identity.
