There has been a lot of talk over the new Android N (Nougat), but what about devices that still need their Android 6.0 update (also known as Android M or Marshmallow). So, what about newer Android devices, as even some from Samsung have not received Marshmallow as yet. This is the latest news about Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow and Android Nougat Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, Note 5, Note 4, and S5 on Verizon, US Cellular, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint Plus Samsung Galaxy Wide.
What is terrific is that the Samsung S7 had Android M right out of the packaging, but the other smartphones from last year are also taken care of. This is the models of the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, as well as the Galaxy Edge Plus.
As for the Galaxy S5, the flagship from two years ago, it should be available on Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, and there is a report on Gotta Be Mobile that even the Galaxy S5 mini will get it as well. As for the Galaxy S4 and S3, that won't be getting the upgrade at all.
As for the phablet series of Samsung products like the Galaxy Note 5, there are reports that subscribers like Verizon, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, T-Mobile have it, and there is a recent report from Tech Times saying that AT&T has it as well. As for last year's phablet of the Note 4, reports are similar to that of the Note Edge. The upgrade has shown up on Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Verizon, and now T-Mobile, according to Android Central.
This is just as good of a time as any to discuss the new Samsung device, the Galaxy Wide. According to Ubergizmo, it has a 5.5-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable memory, a 3,000 mAh battery, a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5 Megapixel front-facing camera, and it has Android M out of the box. It will only be available in the South Korean market for about $275.
PC Advisor states that Android Nougat could be available in September and come straight to 2016 Nexus phones. As for when it will comes to Samsung, there is much speculated that Android N will officially roll out onto Samsung devices at the first quarter of 2017. This is just following the pattern of the release of Android M.
If you own a "newer" Samsung devices are encouraged to check your "Settings" and "System Updates" to see if Marshmallow is ready to download. This upgrade might not be ready depending on your U.S. carrier, as it has been shown that certain carriers receive the Android upgrade before others, with no real pattern.
