The Chicago Bulls are in the middle of rebuilding their roster following a disastrous 2015-16 NBA season. With the future of Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler hanging in a balance, fans are eager to see how the front office plans to address the free agency options in the market. Given the talents available ripe for the picking, the Chicago Bulls are said to be leaning heavily on signing Jeremy Lin into a short-term contract.
The Charlotte Hornets star, who helped Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum almost defeat the Miami Heat of Dwyane Wade and Hassan Whiteside, is joining the free agency 2016 market. Reports note that Jeremy Lin has attracted the interest of various NBA teams including the San Antonio Spurs, where he can be added to the super team of Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green; the Los Angeles Lakers, where he can become a veteran presence to boost D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson in the hardwood court; and the New York Knicks, where he can revive the Linsanity era alongside Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.
However, it seems that one team is a heavy favorite for Jeremy Lin as of late - the Chicago Bulls. Rumors are rife that the Jimmy Butler squad is looking into adding Linsanity into their roster in an effort to match the pace set by the Fred Hoiberg gameplays. To pave the way for his entry to the Chicago Bulls, sources claim that either Joakim Noah or Derrick Rose will be booted off the team. Will this work?
"Playing for the Bulls would help highlight the things that Lin does well," noted Daniel Coughlin of FanSided. He added, "He can score from outside, even if not expertly, and he can take over games from time to time, just ask the Spurs about their visit to Charlotte this year. The Bulls need a point guard who can facilitate an offense and will hustle and Lin can do both. Fred Hoiberg's offense only works when the ball keeps moving and players keep moving. Generally, this is something that Lin does well, though he can get caught parking once in a while."
One of the things that helped the Charlotte Hornets shine this NBA season, which saw them almost eliminate the Miami Heat in the playoffs, is the remarkable three-point shots of Lin. Moreover, the Linsanity appears to have resurfaced as the former Los Angeles Lakers star stunned even the likes of Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. Given the injuries of both Rose and Noah as well as how these limited their minutes last NBA season, a healthy and young Lin just might be the solution for the Chicago Bulls.
What do you think? Should the Chicago Bulls sign Jeremy Lin? Will Linsanity stage a comeback once he starts working hand in hand with Jimmy Butler, Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson?
