The Dallas Cowboys lost one of their best stars when DeMarco Murray walked out of their locker room and signed a huge contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. When the NFL offseason started and the running back opted to leave the former Chip Kelly team to sign with the Tennessee Titans, rumors were rife that the Tony Romo squad wanted to trade for him again. At the moment, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys have renewed their interest on the Tennessee Titans roster. However, Jerry Jones appears to no longer be interested in Murray. Instead, the young Derrick Henry is said to be the target of the Dallas Cowboys this time around.
Right now, the Dallas Cowboys are looking into bringing back their glory days specially with their devastating 2015-16 season. While the entry of Ezekiel Elliot in the roster is a promising start for the NFL team, it looks like Jerry Jones is adamant on his desire to build a super team by next season. Hence, rumors are rife that the Dallas Cowboys might see two stars, namelt Elliot and aging Darren McFadden, leave the roster soon to make way for Derrick Henry.
"Should the Cowboys trade Darren McFadden?" noted Ryan Van Bibber of the SB Nation. He added, "Yes, they absolutely should since they used the fourth pick in the draft on Ezekiel Elliott and signed Alfred Morris, who is more than a very capable backup behind that offensive line, in the offseason. They can spare McFadden, who is also the rare trade candidate that teams might actually want."
When Elliot entered the Dallas Cowboys roster, McFadden made it clear that he understood the implications of the draft. Citing his age and injuries, the older running back shared that he intends to help the rookie adapt to the NFL life as much as he can.
"I've been around the game long enough to know there's always a new guy coming in, whether you pick him up in the fourth round or the first round," shared McFadden of the NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys running back added, "I'm a guy who's getting older, so I know somebody is going to come in and take over."
Meanwhile, the Heisman Trophy winner, who joins the ranks of Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer and Robert Griffin III, has been an early favorite prior to the NFL Draft. With the odd yet impressive combination of his bulk and speed, Henry earned the respect and admiration of the football community. Moreover, his victory marked a momentous event for running backs since the Heisman Trophy typically goes to the quarterback nominees.
"Derrick is going to be a great back in the league," Rashad Johnson shared of the Heisman Trophy winner. The Tennessee Titans safety added, "If you watch him, he's a physical guy, he's got great feet, it's hard to bring him down one-on-one. And this league is going to be great for him, because you design plays a lot of times where you have to make one-on-one tackles, one-on-one plays, and anybody going against this guy one-on-one is going to be on the rough end of it.
