The Super Bowl 50 saw the San Francisco 49ers play host to the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. In the Santa Clara stadium, the NFL community witnessed how Peyton Manning schooled younger quarterback Cam Newton and outperform teammate Brock Osweiler in the crucial game. In 2017, the Super Bowl 51 will be held in Houston where the former Denver Broncos quarterback signed in the hopes of leading the JJ Watt team to victory while also playing host to the event. In 2018, the Minnesota Vikings of Adrian Peterson will have a turn at playing host.
In the recently concluded NFL team owners' meeting, the group decided on the future locations of Super Bowls in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The Super Bowl LIII will be held in Atlanta in 2019 where the Matt Ryan team will aim to not only host but also compete for the trophy. This will mark the third time they will be hosting the event in the city and the first time they will hold it in the famed Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The said stadium is currently under construction with the scheduled completion targeted by 2017.
"Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be unique, not only in America, but throughout the world," shared Arthur Blank following the Super Bowl announcement. He added, "We think it's a great host stadium for the Super Bowl. And we love it being in downtown Atlanta." Prior to the win of Atlanta, the New Orleans Saints were also considered as possible hosts for the Super Bowl LIII.
"Atlanta has been so supportive of not just the Falcons, but the NFL,'' shared Jerry Jones. The Dallas Cowboys owner added, "They are deserving of having this Super Bowl. Obviously it's a great stadium; a state-of-the-art stadium. But it's the entire aggregation with what's happened with the College Hall of Fame, and that whole picture down there is just something that not only Atlanta is proud of, but I'm proud of. It was a big deal to this ownership for Atlanta to have this Super Bowl.''
In 2020, the Super Bowl LIV will be in South Florida. The Miami Dolphins will welcome the NFL community in their newly renovated stadium - a project that reportedly costs $400 million. Stephen Ross, the owner of the Miami Dolphins, shared, "The only thing better than winning the 2020 Super Bowl is playing in it and winning it."
Meanwhile, the NFL owners' decision to hold the Super Bowl LV in Los Angeles came as no surprise. With the move of the Rams in their new stadium, the entire football community partly expected a big event to commemorate the decision. Needless to say, the Super Bowl LV is the best way to celebrate it.
"They had Super Bowls there regularly before there was no team, so with our new stadium and project, it will be unbelievable," shared Stan Kroenke. The Rams owner added, "I've been asked about it a lot when I was in Los Angeles. Everyone's excited."
