A missionary surgeon was convicted of sexually abusing four women and 18 minors during his 28-year mission in Bangladesh from 1961 to 1989.
The 280 pages investigation report of the Professional Investigators International that has delved into the case for three years found strong evidence to indict Donn Ketcham for sexually abusing the 22 victims.
The Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) confirmed the report about one of their missionary.
"There is no amount of remorse, regret, or shame that can make up for the suffering and pain we have caused," said Al Cockrell, the ABWE interim president, in a press statement.
"We are offering to meet with the victims in person to express our deepest apology, to pay for counselling them, and to ensure them we have implemented measures to prevent such deplorable behaviour again," he added.
Ketcham refused to give his side in the investigation, but reports had it said that he admitted to "heavy petting" with girls in high school, and during medical school he was involved with three women.
He was even flirting with his other staffs in hospital in Bangladesh, and in the absence of assisting nurse or accompanying parents, he does physical exams of the minors.
In the midst of the investigation of his case, Ketcham surrendered his medical license in 2012.
"We are strong beautiful women who were once adorable, innocent little girls, " Ketcham's victims wrote in "Bangladesh MKs Speak," a Facebook group account. "We were again faced with ugly, hurtful details regarding our stories. This has been an incredibly difficult, painful, emotional week," they added.
