Season 28 of The Amazing Race premiered on CBS on February 12th, and since then, viewers have been watching the social media star teams race around the world for a chance at winning one million dollars. Friday's episode eliminated another team, and three teams are left. Who is going to win it all?
The final three teams consist of Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, Matt Steffanina and Dana Boriello, and Sheri and Cole LaBrant.
The YouTube stars, Tyler and Korey have come in 1st place five times in the last 11 legs. Three times they have finished in 2nd. They have come in third once, and sixth place twice. They have shown great competitiveness and have completed most of their tasks quite easily- only making some minor mistakes that dropped them to sixth place in two of the legs.
Matt and Dana, the engaged YouTube dancers, won the first leg of the race, but they did not keep up their momentum throughout. They had five fourth place finishes, three times they came in third, and one time in fifth. They managed to step up their game and got lucky enough to get 2nd place so they could race in the final leg. They have been known this season for their lack of communication, and many arguments that have not helped them much. They are not a fan favorite of the season because of their bickering. Will they make out of the race and still be a couple?
The third team to make it to the mat on Friday, much to everyone's surprise, Vine star Cole LaBrant and his mother Sheri. Cole and Sheri have been saved from getting sent home twice on two non-elimination legs in Armenia and the United Arab Emirates. They have very much been the underdogs of the race, coming in third place only twice, and the rest of the time, dragging behind in the tail. They have been known to get lost easily, and Sheri gets easily frustrated under pressure, but no matter what, they have continued to be positive, and well-liked because of it. Cole has faced his fear of heights twice in the race so far, and it looks like he might have to overcome one more time as there is a heights-based task in this final leg. At least he hasn't let it stop him from racing.
Even though they have never come in first place yet, there is a first time for everything, and the Amazing Race has seen five teams win first place in the final leg, after never having won a previous leg before. Only one of those teams had a previous best of third place, though. It's still anyone's race.
According to Reality Fan Forum, on Friday, the teams will leave Shenzhen, China, and fly to Los Angeles, California. Their first task will be at Angelus Plaza, where they will leap off a building to grab a clue, and then rappel down the side. They'll travel by helicopter to Santa Barbara. They'll head to Gibraltar Rock where they will perform a mountaineering task, and then to Grassini Vineyards where they will have a final memory challenge. The finish line is in Grassini Vineyards.
