The body of Joey Martin Feek, from Joey + Rory country and bluegrass music duo fame, is back home in Tennessee. Her husband, Rory Feek, went back to their farm with 2-year-old daughter Indiana after Joey died Friday, March 4, after an extended battle with cervical cancer. Her funeral will be private and straightforward.

Rory, 49, shared a photo with he and Indiana getting reacquainted with their horses on Saturday afternoon. The family has been away from their Tennessee farm for several months as Joey came to the end of her life in Indiana.
In a photo shared Saturday, Rory Feek, 49, is seen carrying his daughter, Indiana, 2, on his shoulders while he pets a horse.
"Every time I think of Joey now, I will think of the woman in Proverbs 31," posted one fan Kristin Hart. "Joey was an amazing example of the "virtuous woman"... a great wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was an example to every woman who is just trying to do their best in taking care of their families. Your family is in our prayers. By the way, the Hymns album is fabulous!! What a great legacy Joey has left for us all."
Joey's funeral will be private, with Rory indicating previously that she will be buried in a simple wooden box on their family property.

Fan Jan L. Cox said she knows Joey is "singing in Heaven's choir with all the other greats." She reiterated that Joey will missed by family and her fans. "RIP Joey!!"
Joey Feek was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014 and underwent successful surgery, only to find out the cancer had returned one year later. In October 2015, she announced she was ending treatment. Doctors didn't expect her to live long, but shortly after learning she and Rory had been nominated for a Grammy, she made it a goal to live through the awards show, as well as her daughter Indiana's second birthday and the release of the couple's album of "Hymns, Songs That Are Important to Us."
When those events passed, Joey told Rory she was tired of fighting. After a round of goodbyes, and last kisses, she drifted off to a deep sleep. Days later, she breathed her last breath.
Fan Elsa Blue said, "Fly free, Joey, and may you rest in the sweetest of peace."
Another fan summed up what many people have been thinking for months. On Facebook, Nicole Barrineau posted: "Forget Romeo and Juliet, I believe Joey and Rory may be the greatest love story ever told. I'm sure they will reunite after he's done here. Prayers for Rory and precious Indiana."
