PlayStation Plus Free Games for March 2016; 'Broforce' Will Be Just One Free Game

Feb 24, 2016 12:23 PM EST

PlayStation Plus users always look forward to the free games that come every month.  Since we are almost finished with the month of February, it stands to reason that soon the free games for PlayStation Plus for March 2016 will be revealed.  At this writing, it is only one free game that has been revealed, and that is the result of the Vote To Play.

The Vote to Play is a way that fans can literally vote for their free game.  The choices were Action Henk, Assault Android Cactus, and the winner, Broforce.  The official website describes the game to be exactly like what it sounds like, which is a bunch of male soldiers running and gunning to eliminate serious competition. It is very reminiscent and satirical of the Contra series.

So far, BroForce is the only confirmed game to be a PlayStation Plus free game, and it is probably a PS4 game, as it isn't available on the other three platforms. Generally, the pattern is a PS4 game, 2 PS 3 games, 2 PS Vita Games, and 1 Game available for all three platforms.

Suggestions for possible games for March 2016 are the usual list including Watch Dogs, Knack and Killzone: Shadowfall, The Last of Us:Remastered, not to mention an Assassin's Creed game.

In the meantime, these are the games available to play for the entire month of February, which gives PlayStation Plus subscribers a week to play for free:

One game offered for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita is Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back, which sounds a lot like BroForce.  It is set in a "satirical and dystopian future", with combat against three invading enemy species.  It is a top-down shooter that focuses a lot on teamwork, with squad battle to become a hero of the Federation.

For the PS4, there is Nom Nom Galaxy, which has a lot of gameplay for one game like platforming, mining, base construction, resource management, tower defense, and making soup.

As for the PS Vita players, they have two choices for the month, and one of them is Nova-111, as the player embarks on a journey to recover the scientists lost in its alien worlds. The other one is Lemmings Touch.  The Lemmings series stems back to the early nineties, and it is about getting a whole herd of creatures from one point to the other without any dying along the way.

There are two choices exclusively for the PS3.  The first is Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.  This game hails from Japan, and it is a serious fighting game that is a sequel to Persona 4 Arena, which is a follow-up to Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.  Then there is Grid Autosport, which is a racing game described on Steam as "it's all about the teams, the rivals and the race as you become driver for hire, specializing in your favorite disciplines or conquering them all in an intense world of professional motorsport".
