Aside from a Red backstory, it has been revealed that it would be an early Valentine's Day treat for fans as the character reunites with his ex-flame in "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 13.
Cupid is set to bring back Red (James Spader) and his ex-flame Josephine (Stephanie Szostak) together in "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 13, according to Youth Health Mag.
As per Wall Street Journal, the Red and Josephine flashback in "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 13 also gives fans little puzzle pieces that allow them to form bigger pictures on Red's character and former dynamics with other people. A case in point is Madeline Pratt, whom Red would risk his life for and kill for.
As per the publication, the tear that dropped on Josephine's cheek at the conclusion of the episode signals that she is aware of the current things that are happening around her. Also, the episode enlightened fans on the reasons behind Red's love for her and how she captured the man's heart. The episode would also give clues that will link to thoughts that she had been coerced into a fixed marriage, leading to her split up with Red.
The episode also saw Red and Liz work hand in hand with the task force to unite two rival crime families. Also, Tom and a previous flame became connected again in the episode.
According to Wall Street Journal, it is believed that the episode could have removed the Tom and Gina storyline to give more screen time to the Red and Josephine loveteam. In the episode, it was revealed that Liz wanted to give up her baby, but failed to do so, since no one wanted to be affiliated with the country's most popular Russian spy.
