"X-Men: Apocalypse" star Olivia Munn has teased several photos and videos on her social media accounts in line with the upcoming Bryan Singer film. Recently, the actress teased another video, but this time, it is a katana battle with "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds.
Munn is set to play psychic-sword wielding mutant Psylocke in Singer's forthcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse." Recently, the actress took to Instagram a video of her executing her character's sword wielding skills.
Without smiling, Munn skillfully uses her sword with speed and dexterity. The camera then shifted to Reynolds, who is playing Wade Wilson/Deadpool in Tim Miller's upcoming film of the same name. Unlike Munn's deadly katana, Reynolds just held a blue sword balloon, which he used to gently hit Munn's head.
In the caption, Munn wrote "#Psylocke v. #Deadpool #xmen #apocalypse Right hand left-hand sword. The said clip got more than 51,000 likes. According to Entertainment Weekly, "Deadpool's" Reynolds had learned a valuable lesson and that was never bring a balloon weapon to a katana fight.
With Munn's latest Psylocke post, it is assumed that fans will appreciate seeing the psychic mutant share the big screen with the Merc with the Mouth.
Munn's video is not the first combat concept against a mutant. On Feb. 5, the "X-Men: Apocalypse" actress tweeted a video as a reply to Twitter user Jonathan Matthews, who asked whether Psylocke or Wolverine would win the fight.
In said response clip, Munn said that when she had been training for Psylocke, one of the things they had worked on had been two blades possibly and making that an option for her in a fight scene.
The actress added that when she had her psionic blades, she actually fought a lot with Wolverine, adding that there had been a lot of fighting because the psionic blades were parts of her character's arms.
For Munn, Psylocke and Wolverine would have a similar fighting style, which would bring a fairly even match. But closing with a serious face, the actress said that Psylocke would win over Wolverine.
Set in the 1980s, "X-Men: Apocalypse" centers on the rise of En Sabah Nur, also known as Apocalypse. As an ancient mutant, he views Earth as a polluted place, so he recruits his Four Horsemen to aid him on his evil plan of massive destruction. Aside from Munn, the film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, and Oscar Isaac, among others.
On the other hand, "Deadpool" follows Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces operative who learns that he has terminal illness and agrees to be a subject in a rogue experiment that gave him boosted healing powers and extraordinary skills set, leading him to adopt the alter ego Deadpool. Aside from Reynolds, the film stars Brianna Hildebrand, Rachel Sheen, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Rachel Sheen, Morena Baccarin, among others.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016, while Miller's "Deadpool" hits theaters on Feb. 12.
