Along with the release of the "Deadpool" trailer at the Super Bowl 2016, film writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed that Tim Miller's upcoming Marvel Comics film is set to have a post-credits scene.
In Reese and Wernick's interview with Cinema Blend, Reese said that critics had held back one particular, basically a second coda. He also mentioned that they wanted to hold it back until Feb. 11, until the actual official movie was in the movies, so one could tease audiences that there were two codas, and one had not seen one of them.
It is probable that the second coda Reese mentioned is the mid-credits scene for Miller's "Deadpool." While its content has not been revealed, it is assumed that it could be a cameo like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine or a thrilling tease for a "Deadpool" sequel.
Meanwhile, the latest Super Bowl 2016 "Deadpool" trailer opened with the logo clips of 20th Century Fox and Marvel, followed by Ryan Reynold's Deadpool, introducing himself to the fans. The next sequence sees the Merc with the Mouth in combat mode and demonstrates his dexterity when it comes to the use of his double sword, along with an offensive stance while wielding the deadly bladed weapon.
Then, Reynold's Deadpool reveals that he had wanted to be a professional athlete since he wanted to have children and cities all over the world. The next scene reveals on top of a chunk of a large scrap rising and hitting his three foes. The following sequence is set on a highway, with the Merc with the Mouth throwing his bladed weapon to stop a man on a motorcycle.
The "Deadpool" trailer also saw the Deadpool's alter ego Wade Wilson, at a time when he has just undergone the experiments for a Biological Weapon. Set in a fiery building, Deadpool is in combat with a man with a fire extinguisher, which he easily defeats.
Fans also see Gina Carano's Angel Dust in battle with Stefan Kapicic's Colossus in metal form. The following scene showed a huge explosion with Colossus carrying two people as he runs away from the falling structure.
The trailer also sees Reynold's Deadpool in a car, along with some hooligans, just like in previous trailers. On an upside down view, the Merc in the Mouth tells fans "See you on Friday, America," with the car rolling towards a man on motorcycle. The bottom part of the Super Bowl trailer also notes that the film is Rated-R, primarily due to contents involving curse words, nudity, and violence.
According to Cinema Blend, the Super Bowl "Deadpool" trailer is admittedly tame, as compared to other red-band trailers that have been unveiled previously. As per the publication, while nudity, violence, and curse words were put to a minimum, the trailer still managed to put emphasis on the Merc with the Mouth's wit.
The athletes at the Super Bowl will not also be offended by Deadpool's words since he has proved in several ways that he was an "equal opportunity offender." These moments included the April Fools' Day prank with Mario Lopez, swipes at Rosie O'Donnel, the X-Men, and the Australian nation, among others. Reynold's Deadpool was even featured alongside Olivia Munn's Psylocke in a katana fight in the actress Instagram clip.
"Deadpool" follows Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces operative who learns that he has a terminal illness and agrees to be a subject in a rogue experiment that gave him boosted healing powers and extraordinary skills set, leading him to adopt the alter ego Deadpool. Aside from Reynolds and Carano, the film stars Brianna Hildebrand, Rachel Sheen, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Rachel Sheen, Morena Baccarin, among others.
Miller's "Deadpool" hits theaters on Feb. 12.
