Modern technology features are some of the highlights on the upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Volt and a video showing the quality of the car display has been revealed.

According to 9to5 Mac, the Chevrolet Volt makes use of an 8-inch capacitive touch display, which is a little bigger than an iPad mini and larger than some aftermarket CarPlay displays. As per the publication, a higher capacity display is advantageous if the driver wishes display compatibility with CarPlay.

The CarPlay stands to be the same with other car displays, since it is dependent on projecting applications from the connected iPhone. However, it should be noted that its appearance and functionality depend on the in-dash quality display.

According to Car And Driver, the second-generation Chevrolet Volt is set to be a satisfying model to car owners and drivers, as compared to its predecessor. As per the publication, Volt is more refined, sleeker, and more buffed up than previous models; however, it is set to have a similar overall structure with its predecessor.

With regard the powertrain of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, the car is set to have two electric motors. Volt chief engineer Andrew Farah told Car And Driver that there had been a speculation that the engine would have been smaller, have fewer cylinders, or be turbocharged.

The new car's motors also have a similar size to its predecessor's and are designed to spread the workload properly. It is also revealed that the combined electrical power of the Chevrolet Volt powertrain is at 149 horsepower and 21 to 294 pound-feet of torque. According to Farah, the new Volt model will get 41 mpg on gas and 102 MPGe on electricity; thus, it is assumed that the car will be faster at 60 mph in 8.4 seconds, as compared to its predecessor.

The energy capacity of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt has increased, but its battery mass has decreased by 31 pounds. It is revealed that the number of Compact Power lithium-ion cells in the model's T-shaped battery pack has been reduced from288 to 192; however, energy capacity is still designed to grow from the previous model's17.1 kWh to 18.4, allowing an all-electric range of 50 miles.

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt was tested by covering 154 miles on grid energy used to charge the car's 18.4 kWh battery, over one half and two complete charging sessions. As per the publication, the other 143 miles had been covered utilizing the gas when the engine kicked on following the depletion of the battery during each of the long highway runs. The car was charged for three hours after 71 miles on gasoline at the optimal rate of 3.6 kilowatts. Then, after 16 miles of electrical duties, it is assumed that the test has covered more than 25 to 45 miles.

According to the Chevrolet website, the estimated price for the 2016 Chevrolet Volt is $34,000. Previous reports revealed that it is set to be released in January; however, it is now assumed the new model is set to be released anytime this year.

Overall, the car display quality of the new 2016 Chevrolet Volt defines the overall car quality, along with its engine, interior, and exterior.
