According to Wall Street Journal, the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe is set to be released at one point this year. As per the publication, car experts agreed that the new 2016 Honda Civic model is geared to beat the new Toyota Corolla model this year, which is a U-turn from last year's sales. The publication revealed that Honda was inferior with its 335, 385 Civic model sales, as compared to the 363,332 Corolla models sold by Toyota.
The price of the upcoming 2016 Honda Civic is set to be lower, as it is going to utilize a new platform that is much easier to drive, as compared to its predecessors, according to Honda Release Date.
Previous reports revealed that the latest model of Honda Civic was awarded as the North American Car of the Year, on the first day of the auto show in Detroit. The tenth generation of the car features enhanced better mileage, engine power, and sleeker design, along with its sporty-looking body.
Along with its short rear overhang, the 2016 Honda Civic's long hood is set to cradle a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which can generate 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Thus, it is assumed that the new car model is going to have a better performance than its predecessors. Its base engine is assumed to be a 1.8-liter inline 4, which is similar to its predecessor. The inline 4 is capable of generating 142 horsepower and 130 pound-feet of torque, getting up to 36 MPG on average with the CVT gearbox. In addition, a 2.4-liter engine is available in the Honda Civic SI and it can yield up to 200 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to being economy-friendly, the new Honda Civic utilizes a fuel efficient technology, along with its enhanced power and torque. Also, the model is set to have sharp and tight handling, which allows drivers to reach more distant destinations.
A model from Civic's 2016 car line, the Civic Coupe is set to have the same hatchback style, just like the Civic Type R. It is revealed that the Coupe is set to have an aggressive front bumper, fog maps, and LED headlights, in addition to a new windshield style. Also, the new model is set to be an evolved form of its predecessor, with its high-performance brakes and 18-inch wheels. Its suspension will also be modified to adjustable dampers, which allows drivers to have a more flexible driving experience.
The 2016 Civic Coupe also adapts the latest technology and offers features like Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, SiriusXM Radio, and SMS text message, which drivers can use for a more connected mobile experience, according to Honda's official website. The new model is also built with radar, panoramic roof, and navigation system.
The 2016 Civic Coupe serves as the latest addition to the tenth generation Civic family, which includes the Civic Type R, Civic Si, and the Civic Hatchback.
