Stand-up comedian Steve Agee has joined the growing cast ensemble of James Gunn's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," as per recent reports.
In the latest episode of comedian Doug Benson's "Doug Loves Movies" podcast, he informed the audience and the guests why Agee was not there. He said that Agee had just found out because he was in the "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2" and he had to shoot that "b*llsh*t" instead of being there with them that day.
Agee could play various roles in Gunn's forthcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," according to Cinema Blend. As per the publication, the comedian was used to having minor guest appearances so that he could play some smaller alien characters in the film.
With his voice acting experience like in "Adventure Time," Agee could also be the voice of Ego, the living planet that is assumed to be a major part of "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2." standing at about 6'6", Agee is known to be able to project a booming voice, which can be aided with some special effects.
In line with the upcoming film, Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in the film, took to Instagram a photo of the "Awesome Mix Vol. 2" tape, which is assumed to set the theme and the mood of "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2."
In the caption, Pratt wrote that he felt good to be back in action on "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2" and he could not tell people how excited he was. He mentioned that he was ecstatic and was bursting with joy, adding that he was overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, and exhilaration. The actor joked that he used an online thesaurus for these words, suggesting others to try it.
Pratt also talked about learning words, which was never too late. He also mentioned about pen and sword, that the former is mightier than the later, and he could whoop someone's *ass if he had had a sword and they only had had a pen.
For Pratt, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" was going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time, and it was not hyperbole.
With "Guardians of the Galaxy" shocking fans and moviegoers in August 2014, labelling the film sequel as the "greatest spectacle film of all time" is an "impressively bold statement," as per Cinema Blend. With this description, it is assumed that "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" will either match or go beyond the performance of its predecessor.
Previous reports revealed that "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is set to dig deeper the characters and their persona. Cases in point include Star-Lord meeting is father and Rocket's backstory.
The film stars Pom Klementieff, Benicio del Toro, Kurt Russell, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, and Pratt.
Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 5, 2017.
