Grey's Anatomy is coming back for its second half of its season next week after a tormenting cliff hanger back in November, and the TGIT promo that left everyone talking about what is going to happen to Meredith that leaves her bloodied on the floor of the hospital. Another promo for the show has given us a few more answers. Members of the cast have also given some hints as to what we will be seeing this season. Read more to find out.
The biggest question everyone has been having, "What happens to Meredith?" In Episode 9, we'll see her on the operating table. A promo clip shows the other doctors working on her. Maggie tells her, "We're going to have to put a chest tube in. Your lung is collapsing." Meredith's eyes open wide, looking at all of the doctors around her. Maggie is talking to her, but we see from her perspective that she's not hearing what anyone is saying. Dr. Richard Webber comes into the room and tells Maggie that she can't work on her family. Maggie is unphased, and continues to work on her, while Karev tells Richard, "Everyone in this d*** room is her family."
From another promo clip, we find out who injured her. In this clip, Meredith is working in a room with her back turned on a patient who had been lying on the bed. The patient gets up out of bed, and she attempts to get him back to bed, when he pushes her into the blinds, then down on the bed, and finally into a cabinet of glass. It doesn't look to be a vindictive incident, but we'll still be looking for answers on why the patient attacked her. Hopefully that will be answered in Episode 9. Amelia(Caterina Scorsone) is seen on the floor looking like she feels helpless while this is all going on. Scarsone told Entertainment Weekly that this event has a big impact on Amelia:
"Amelia always holds herself extremely responsible for the misfortunate of others. In this case especially, she feels somehow responsible, even though she's really not. She often takes it all very personally when someone she's close to is hurt. When we come back, Amelia is at a very, very low point."
In the mid-season finale, we did see that she had relapsed, so hopefully this event doesn't make her go on a downward spiral.
There are other issues that fans want to see resolved- particularly whether or not Jo will say yes to Alex, and if Jackson and April will get back together. Oh, and what's the deal between Nathan(Martin Henderson) and Owen(Kevin McKidd)? McKidd has hinted that we'll start seeing the truth of that come out around according to tvline.com. People have theorized that Owen's sister is dead and Nathan had something to do with it. "It does appear that it's a death, but it's more ambiguous than that," he says. "But it's more ambiguous than that."
Grey's Anatomy will be returning on February 11th. Are you ready for this?
