In line with James Bobin's upcoming adventure fantasy film "Alice Through the Looking Glass," another trailer has been unveiled, and it is filled with enchantment.
The new trailer of "Alice Through The Looking Glass" featured Alan Rickman's voice as Absolem the Caterpillar, saying "You've been gone too long, Alice," adding that there was matter that could not be neglected. According to Mirror UK, the voice belongs to Rickman, who is known for his iconic tone, adding a haunting mood to the trailer.
The clips also see Alice's return to Wonderland and the Mad Hatter's devastated look, which was also shown in the first trailer. Focus is more centered on clock and time, which relates the premise that saving the Mad Hatter from danger is only a matter of time.
The trailer also featured the White Queen, the Red Queen, the Chesire cat, as well as the human adaptation of Time, who is believed as the central antagonist of the upcoming film. Also, the clip suggested that Alice would be facing new challenges like playing chess and dealing with a fire-breathing dragon. Whether she saves the Mad Hatter or not is yet to be revealed.
According to Cinema Blend, "Alice Through the Looking Glass" is one of the most enjoyable films in summer, for two reasons. First, the trailer offered fans a fast glimpse of the series of events that film would contain. The other reason is the luscious, extravagant, and top notch on-screen product.
The said "Alice Through The Looking Glass" trailer is also set to be released at the 2016 Super Bowl, among other film trailers. Along with a blend of comedic and dark tones of the trailer, it is assumed that Bobin's upcoming film would match the performance of its predecessor at the box office.
"Alice Through The Looking Glass" is set to be the second film, following Burton's "Alice In Wonderland" in 2010. It centers on Alice as she goes back to Wonderland three years from events in the first film and travel back in time to save the Mad Hatter from peril posed by the ticking Chronosphere, a device that powers all elements of time.
The film stars Timothy Spall, Toby Jones, Michael Sheen, Andrew Scott, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, and Sacha Baron Cohen as Time. Bobin's "Alice Through the Looking Glass" also serves as Rickman's last cinematic appearance as Absolem, following his death in January.
With Bobin at the helm of the film, "Maleficent" writer Linda Woolverton is on board to pen the film screenplay. Tim Burton, Joe Roth, John Scotti, Jennifer Todd, and Suzanne Todd are are the film producers.
Bobin's "Alice Through the Looking Glass" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27.
