Following the success of J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," it is revealed that "Star Wars: Rogue One" and "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will see Boba Fett and Captain Phasma while "Star Wars: Episode IX" will film in an actual space setting.
Rumors say that Boba Fett is set to appear in Gareth Edwards' "Star Wars: Rogue One." following the revelation of the characters' costumes in a Toy Fair, a new image of the upcoming "Star Wars: Rogue One" LEGO set features Boba Fett's ship, Slave 1. It is noted that the ship had some color changes.
On Jan. 30, Twitter user StudShooter! wrote, "More #LEGO #StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg! #RogueOne & a Droid Tales-esque series titled The Freemaker Adventures."
Slave 1 was initially owned by Boba Fett's father, Jango Fett, who had reportedly stolen it, as per Cinema Blend. According to the publication, the change in color of Boba Fett's ship could be an approach to disguise the ship and the character or a way to showcase the transformation it had over the years.
In other news, Gwendoline Christie, who plays Captain Phasma, revealed that her character would be in Rian Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII." In her interview with People during the red carpet at the SAG Awards this weekend, Christie said that she would be in the next "Star Wars" movie, adding that that was exclusive.
According to another report from Cinema Blend, Christie's Captain Phasma is set to unleash the same level of menace Boba Fett had incurred to the franchise when he first appeared in the film.
Meanwhile, Colin Trevorrow revealed his desire to shoot the film in actual space. In his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he had asked the question if it was possible for them to shoot IMAX film in actual space for "Star Wars," adding that he had not gotten an answer yet and they had shot IMAX in space.
As per another report from Cinema Blend, the idea of outer space has stirred the minds of moviegoers, and they actualize it using special effects. With Trevorrow's reveal, the concept of filming his "Star Wars" film in space has further thrilled fans.
Following its release on Dec. 18, 2015, Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" has grossed nearly $2 million globally, with more than $895 million locally and more than $1 million in other countries, according to Box Office Mojo. According to the publication, the film stood third at the box office weekend, grossing more than $11 million.
"Star Wars: Rogue One" serves as the first film in the "Star Wars" anthology series. It centers on the Rebels as they set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.
Edwards' "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 16. Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VII" is slated to premiere on Dec. 15, 2017, while Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" hits theaters on May 24, 2019.
