Hugh Jackman already has the full script for "Wolverine 3" in his hands. Since this movie is his last as "Wolverine," many are anticipating what the movie has in store for fans.
Speaking with Collider, as he promoted "Eddie the Eagle" at Sundance, Jackman announced that he now has a copy of "Wolverine 3"s full story line. With the script in his hands, he now hints that the production date of the movie will be much sooner than later. "We have a script. A full script. To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished-well, it's not finished, but we're getting super close-as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps... yeah, it's sooner rather than later," Jackman said.
Since it was reported that the movie is more likely to be shown on March 2017, production indeed has to take place as soon as possible. Jackman cannot provide more details about it, though. He, however, reiterated that it is still going to be his last one as Wolverine. And as such, the production date cannot be rushed, because he wants his performance to be his best yet. "I don't have a firm date yet. My thing and I've told you and I've told everyone, it's my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it's perfect, bang, we'll go," he explained.
In a related news, Jackman already gave his opinion on who can play Wolverine next after him. It is possible that Wolverine might appear in the "Deadpool" sequel, but with Jackman's decision not to play the character anymore ever, a new face has to take over. Yahoo News reported that as he promoted his movie "Eddie the Eagle" with co-star Taron Egerton, Jackman claimed that lucky guy to play the new Wolverine can be Egerton. "I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan - he's awesome - that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]... probably you [Taron Egerton]," Jackman said. Egerton joked that he probably cannot pull off the renowned character because he does not have the facial hair for it.
It remains to be seen if executives can see what Jackman sees in Egerton. Another actor he recommended earlier was Tom Hardy.
