After three weeks of knowing each other, our three couples press on in their journey of getting to know each other and growing themselves in the process- as most married couples do. One of the couples will end up living separately by the end of the relationship. Read on to find out more...
Tres and Vanessa
Tres is frustrated with Vanessa not opening up to her. Vanessa says if things are bothering her, she needs time to sort through it.
Dr. Joseph Cilona, the psychologist expert, takes his turn visiting the couples this time. Vanessa continues to express her fears that she can't trust Tres, and Dr. Cilona suggests that her past experiences with her dad are affecting her. Tres discusses his frustrations with her not opening up to him about the little things and wonders what it would be like if there are bigger things. When they come together, they are encouraged to talk to each other about Vanessa's feelings about abandonment since she hasn't told him much about her experiences growing up and feeling abandoned by her dad.
They travel to Greenville, South Carolina, Vanessa's childhood home, where Tres learns more about Vanessa from her mom. Later, Vanessa opens up more and talks to Tres about her feelings of abandonment. Looks like things are on the upswing again.
Ashley and David
While Ashley is at clinical, David meets up with friends who are shocked that he hasn't had a kiss from his wife three weeks in. "Well, you're giving it 110 percent, and I feel like she's giving it five percent." Good math, guys!
"The best time is yet to come," is inscribed on his watch that Ashley gave him on their wedding day. His friends are supportive of him because they can see he is putting his all into it. One friend says that his advice is, "just to be good friends and see where that builds."
Ashley and David are seen using FaceTime as David is out of town for work, and at least, Ashley seems to think that keeping in communication is still valuable, "because that's what normal married couples do."
Ashley is trying to become more of a wife and do things like his laundry. Belle, the dog, proves to be a barrier to their intimacy, and Ashley agrees to put her out of the room to allow them alone time. Ashley connects with David's friends, and really seems to be making an effort.
When Cilona visits these two, Ashley tells the doctor that the physical attraction is still not there, and she is confused about where to go from there. She doesn't want to tell David this for fear of hurting him. He convinces her to admit it to him- that he's not her "physical type." He tells David that he needs to remove all pressure of physical intimacy from her. He says,"Of course," but he doesn't sound really thrilled with this.
Sam and Neil
Moving into Sam's old house(and in with her roommate) because traffic is bad for her with her new promotion at work. Neil tells the cameras that he doesn't like this living situation because there isn't much space(she gives him a couple of drawers for his clothes), they are living there with her roommate, and she won't even give him a spare key, so he feels like he's just a guest there. "It's not how a marriage in my eyes should be." Sam sees it as a plus, because she sees them spending more time together, and likes that Sammy is across the hall to talk to. Neil wonders if this isn't what Sam wanted all along, and the commute wasn't the reason.
Neil explains to Sam that he wants to have their own place. Sam says she understands, but she is once again upset that he didn't tell her his real feelings sooner- the same issue they fought over on their honeymoon. She is less than thrilled with his plans of looking for a new place, even when he says that he'll do all the work. She then calls him, "Fake," and wasnt' too impressed with his joking comment of, "I learn from the best." She tells him to leave and get out, as she tells the camera that she wasn't happy being called, "fake." She eventually lets him back in the house, he apologizes, and they talk about finding a new place. Until they find a new place, they will be living separately- hopefully only for a couple of days.
Cilona visits this couple also, and tells them that Neil isn't necessarily a bad communciator, just doesn't communicate in the way Sam would like, and that they need to meet in the middle as far as their communcation goes and gives strategies for them to work on that.
For her birthday, Neil surprises Sam with a murder mysetery dinner that she has always wanted to do. This seems to mean a lot to her and makes her realize that he's figuring her out. This is a step closer to bringing them together.
Next Week
The previews show Tres and Vanessa at a wine with art class. Nothing seems to be amiss there. Sam and Neil seem to be fighting about communication again. Ashley and David are also arguing. He ends with,"Finally, you are trying one hundred percent."
Will they be able to work out their differences? Will Vanessa make it through another week without questioning if Tres will be there for her? Stay tuned. Leave your comments below.
