Even though the general release of the highly awaited Microsoft Lumia 550, Lumia 950, and Lumia 950 XL this month on stores across the United States and Europe has been successful, the first Windows 10 update for these phones did not experience the same smooth release. The update has been removed shortly after its launch because of some installation issues.
GSM Arena reports that the first Windows 10 update Microsoft has published for Lumia 950 and 950 XL was taken down shortly. According to a moderator on the Microsoft Answers Forum, users should ignore low storage notifications and if there are pending OS or app updates, they should just leave their new phones plugged into a charger "while it works through those items." The update called 10586.29 has forced some users to reset their devices so that these can be functional again.
Microsoft did not say when the bugs would be fixed. The company, however, announced that it is very open to customer feedback, and customer satisfaction is their priority. Windows 10 update aside, most of these phones have received raving reviews. Currently, seeing how high customer demand is for the phones this Christmas season, the company even announced that it will give away a free Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL for free through the Fa-la-la-liday contest. The contest is open worldwide so nobody could miss out. Windows Central has all the details and mechanics.
In a related news, first spotted back in Oct 2015, Microsoft Lumia 650 in a black version, even if unannounced, has already earned itself some fans. This time, however, fans of the mystery phone will be happy to know that there is also a white version. Phone Arena reported that a white Lumia 650 has been spotted, and it looks great.
Apart from having black and white versions, Lumia 650 codenamed Lumia Saana, is expected to become Microsoft's fourth Windows 10 handset, after the Lumia 550, Lumia 950, and Lumia 950 XL.
Phone Arena rounded up some rumors on Lumia 650 and reported that it may come in sporting a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, potentially satisfying those who cannot currently go with Lumia 550, because it only offers a 4.7 inch 720p screen. At the same time, the 5-inch display would satisfy those who think Lumia 950 at 5.2 inch Quad HD and Lumixa 950 XL at 5.7-inch Quad HD are too large to use comfortably.
Other than the size and the color variants, however, the mysterious and unannounced Lumia 650 remains as mysterious as ever. With regard its release date, fans can expect it to be released probably next year since the three Windows 10 phone are already out in the market and gaining momentum.
