"Dirt Rally" may be released for Lifelower, PS4 and Xbox One, as indicated by the listings on a Taiwanese video game rating board. As of now, Codemasters has made the game available only on PC through Steam's Early Access platform.
Fans of "Dirt Rally" should rejoice that the game is going to be released on consoles as reported by Gamespot, particularly since the reviews of the game have been quite positive. The game was given a surprise launch earlier this year, in April, wherein the in-development version of the game was being sold for $31.49.
At the time, Codemasters said that the launch was a risk they were afraid but needed to take. It "scares the absolute crap out of us, but in a good way," Codemasters said at the time. "We want you to feel like part of the development team and help us build a better game."
According to Richard Wakeling of Gamespot's review of the game, it ""has room for improvement in terms of production values, but it more than makes up for this with a robust and in-depth driving model that's as exhilarating as it is rewarding." He added that the game may be a tad too challenging for everyone, but learning to master the game is a whole new experience to cherish. "The stiff challenge it presents won't be for everyone, but the prospect of mastering its many intricacies is a tantalising proposition I'm sure many will gladly tackle," he said. "This is not the Dirt we once knew, but a reinvention of the series that's going in all the right directions. You should consider getting in on the ground floor," he added.
Fans of "Dirt Rally" can expect a game of utmost thrill and fun since its developers are experts when it comes to racing games. Codemasters recently gave an interview of how "Dirt Rally's" success, along with their other racing games, made them want to focus on this particular type of games. "While it's been great to explore projects outside of racing, we know that our hearts belong to racing in all its many glorious forms," a Codemasters rep said to Eurogamer. "The success of Dirt Rally's Early Access program has been incredible, F1 2015 was very successful reaching number one in many territories, we've recently announced that Micro Machines will come to mobile, and we have a strong roadmap ahead of us that keeps racing as its razor focus."
