The official GTA 6 Grand Theft Auto website announced this month that the highly awaited GTA 6 will very likely show up by October 2018 and not in July 2017 as previously stated. Rockstar is expected to prioritize the PS4, XBox One and PC formats.
Nevertheless, there is no official announcement of the release date yet as of press time, only hints such as the one from Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North, who said: "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do," and adding "We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas."
Another post from the website reports that in an interview with Ballerstatus, DJ Whoo Kid, remarked about his music in video games that, "I was in 'Call of Duty' and I was in some 'Grand Theft Auto' games. I'm bout to be in the new 'Grand Theft Auto' that takes place in New York again."
Even though Rockstar is still busy with DLC's and online GTA features, this comment underscored that the game developer is indeed cooking something in the background.
Nevertheless, the GTA6 Grand Theft Auto blog entry clarified that the speculated release date (from 2018 - 2020) is based on a previously observed Rockstar strategy.
In the meantime, given the lengthy period before seeing GTA 6, the posts give a few suggestions on what to do while waiting. The first is to lookout for other GTA games that may come out first, such as GTA City Stories, and other GTA versions like San Andreas and Vice City.
The second is to make your GTA 6 gameplay trailer video, like this 1 minute, 43 second- video that was created by a fan.
The third is to come up with your wish list for GTA 6 content. The report mentioned a summary of top wishes from GTA players:
The number one request is for GTA 6 to have a female protagonist who will stand by her man, who, this time will no longer be a victim but will be at the center of the story line. Many players have also voiced out their desire that this character be as attractive and edgy as the game requires.
The second wish list is for GTA to have a retro 1970's feel to it. Fans in forums have mentioned that the 70's culture was well known for the mafia, and corrupt government.
The third is that the GTA 6 should explore an entirely new city that Rockstar has never ventured to before, and for the main character's look and clothes to be customizable.
