Grey's Anatomy fans have more than one reason to tune into season 12, episode 8 of the medical drama series. This marks the mid-season finale and is the last you will hear from ABC's hit medical drama until the winter is over. What should you expect?
Yibada reports that episode 8 will be entitled: Things We Lost in Fire and will focus on the drama that ensues when some injured firefighters are rushed to the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
This is a fitting backdrop that affords the plot to zoom in on Owen Hunt, Head of Trauma and Chief of Surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The character is played by Kevin McKidd, and the story involves the dredging up of his secret past. ABC's official website has posted a synopsis for this episode and hints that the drama that will unfold has something to do with why Owen hates the new resident, Nathan Riggs, played by Martin Henderson.
Some romantic interludes ensue: Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) struggles with her feelings for the intern. However, she must do this while keeping things at a professional level. Nevertheless, all her efforts end up in an intimate embrace with Andrew De Luca (Giacomo Giannotti) in bed.
Another relationship is also on the rocks: Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) get into a fight when Jo has doubts about Alex's sense of priority.
Meanwhile, as the doctors tend to the injuries of the wounded firemen, a lot of juicy secrets and rumors are spilled.
Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) on the other hand makes a terrible discovery: She finds out about April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and Jackson Avery's (Jesse Williams) latest tryst.
There will be an intense moment when Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo ) get embroiled in a climactic face off: "That is crap. You've given up. You are crawling into your little hole and dying. You are hollow. And Derek would be sick about it if he could see it. He would be disgusted," Amelia tells Meredith in the promo video.
