When it comes to Apple, there is always seems to be rumored product looming overhead. Last month, Apple released its fourth-gen Apple TV. Now, the biggest rumor centers on Apple's alleged plan to build an electric car.
According to a report, the company is now taking steps to develop their car. Reports said there are people from Tesla and other automotive companies that Apple hired over the last 12 months.
Highlighting the company's car initiative, reports stated that the upper management of Apple approved the proposal to increase the people in their automotive team from 600 to 1800 people.
Rumors said that the company would begin shipping its smart car in 2019. Moreover, the company spent more than a year to study the feasibility of an Apple-branded car, including meetings with two groups of government officials in California.
"We look at a lot of things...We will see what we do in the future. I do think that industry is at an inflection point for massive change, not just evolutionary change," Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, said in an interview last month.
However, the published reports do not answer who is going to manufacture the electric car and where is Apple going to sell these cars. Some experts say the company would open its line of dealership like Tesla.
The electric car, which is under the code name "Project Titan", is now upgraded to "committed project" status.
According to people familiar with the topic, the Apple car may resemble a minivan. It may also include self-driving technology.
Currently, Apple has been searching for a place where it can start testing the prototype of the electric car. A signal that the company is solemn about developing the innovative technology.
For Apple TV, Tim Cook said the company sees the product as the "foundation" of a new experience. In other words, the Apple TV is not in its final form.
One week after releasing the first tvOS 9.1 beta for Apple TV, developers now have access to an updated build of a software update to test. The updated software is focused on stability and bug fixes as no visual changes were discovered.
Recently, Apple announced that it would hold 11 Tech Talk sessions across ten different cities around the world. The company describes the conferences as a strategy to "get in-depth guidance from Apple experts in developing and designing for tvOS, in a city near you."
