With October coming to a close, Xbox Live with Gold subscribers will have only two free games left. Sadly, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been removed from the free games list immediately after October 15. However, Xbox One members will rejoice that they get two additional weeks with The Walking Dead Complete First Season. In the sections below, we will look at the remaining free game for this month.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War (Xbox One)
Xbox Live customers who own the Xbox One have just one more week to try out the critically-acclaimed indie title, Valiant Hearts. Admittedly, the game is not very huge on historical accuracy. Rather, it is a more stylistic portrayal of the First World War. Despite the lack in realism, the game does not spare the audience from the horrors of early 20th-century warfare. Players will find themselves immersed in the role of several individuals whose journey crosses paths in the trenches of Western Europe. The game will continue to be available until the end of October.
The Walking Dead: Complete First Season (Xbox One, Xbox 360)
This spinoff game of AMC's popular The Walking Dead television series brings players into the familiar zombie apocalypse. Unlike other titles in the genre, gameplay is story-based where players make decisions that impact the ending. It goes without saying, that there is less emphasis on action. In fact, the point is not about killing zombies. So, this game is not for the run-and-gun crowd. That kind of players is best served with titles such as Left4Dead and Dying Light. In short, The Walking Dead is the thinking man's (or woman's) game.
Xbox One players will get to try out the game for free until November 15, according to Major Nelson. Unfortunately, Xbox 360 players will see their free copy of The Walking Dead expire after October 31.
What's Next on November 15?
For now, we know that The Walking Dead on Xbox One is going to be available for free in the first half of November. There are four free games available each month. This month was exceptional, given that Microsoft included two editions of one game. So since we already know about one game, there are still three games that are at large. For now, it is better to wait for more confirmation from Microsoft in the coming days leading to November.
