'Back to the Future' Day Free Streaming with Amazon Prime

Oct 21, 2015 01:49 AM EDT

Back to the Future day kicks off globally on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. The one-day event that celebrates the franchise's 30th anniversary is being held in countries in North America, Europe, Latin and South America. All three films in the cult-classic trilogy will have limited viewings in theaters all over the world.

Sadly, there are no reported screenings in the United States. Hollywood Reporter recently unveiled that there are limited showings in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Australia.

Hence, fans in the U.S. are going to have to settle for online streaming. The only catch is that only Amazon Prime is offering free online streaming for all three Back to the Future films. Luckily, Amazon offers a free 30-day trial period. That means first-time users can watch Back to the Future without paying a dime. Just remember to unsubscribe once finished viewing the films.

Bear in mind that this is the real Back to the Future day. For years, there were many online hoaxes that tricked gullible fans into believing that there was such an event. This time, it is for real. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the Back to the Future trilogy remains a much-beloved classic amongst sci-fi lovers internationally.

The film is notable for inadvertently predicting several real-life things such as 3D movies, tablet devices and wireless games. Sadly, hover boards are not amongst Back to the Future inventions that have become reality.
