Homeland Season 5, episode 3 saw Carrie (Claire Danes) on the verge of death as her former lover Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) threatens to kill her. Few doubt that Carrie will survive this ordeal as expected, but the question is, how exactly will she get out of it?
IBTimes reports that last episode had viewers sitting at the edge of their seats as the ex-CIA agent fell into the hands of assassin Quinn. In kidnapping Jonas's son, Quinn manages to discover the hideaway by forcing Jonas to come clean. Even though Carrie gets that she is in a set-up, still she falls into the hands of her kidnapper. Carrie is sedated after she tries to beg for mercy.
The intriguing part is the question on what Carrie has done to make her a target for the hired killer. Quinn muses that she "must have crossed a line somewhere." What is in store for episode 4 is that awakes in a room, wrongly feeling relieved to see her ex. She eventually gets that her life is in danger when Quinn doesn't lift a finger to untie the ropes that bound her.
However, Quinn's threatening/soothing response of touching Carrie's face makes one wonder whether he will spare her life or soothe her to make the process less difficult.
Nevertheless the episode's teaser indicates that no killing will be going on. Instead, there will very likely be a romantic liaison "for old time's" sake as fate throws Carrie back into the arms of her bad boy former boyfriend. Whether the team up involves searching for who's behind the order to have Carrie killed or to merely have her escape is up for speculation.
The rest of the Homeland episode 4 preview also gives some insight to what Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) and Allison Carr (Miranda Otto) are up to. Numan (Atheer Adel) will also make a startling discovery: the documents he hacked from the CIA's database will no longer land into the hands of During Foundation American journalist Laura Sutton (Sarah Sokolovic), because they have been sold.
Episode 4 of Homeland season 5 will air on 25 October at 9 PM ET/PT on Showtime.
