The Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 first two parts of the web series have audiences in a tumble over how the commercial flight will go down in the early stages of a zombie outbreak, ultimately ending with at least one survivor joining season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead in 2016, The IBTimes reports.
The 16 installments were written by L. Signorino and Mike Zunic and produced by Fear executive producer Dave Erickson and co-executive producer David Wiener. The first installment entitled Patient Zero was directed by Michael McDonough and premiered in AMC's season 1 finale of Fear The Walking Dead. The second installment came out on Oct. 18, this time with clues on who Patient Zero - the first victim - might be. Each installment lasts less than a minute.
The story so far on the commercial flight is thus: Jake boards a plane without his mother who is stuck at the airport. Despite assurances from mother to son that everything will be alright and they will eventually see each other soon, the phone conversation ends in a foreboding tone: the mom bids goodbye, telling the boy there is nothing to worry about, while ear-piercing, zombie-like screams in the background tell him otherwise. It's a situation that doesn't sit well with the clip's hero (played by Brendan Meyer) who is forced to settle his mind when the plane takes flight.
On the plane, there are things that add to Jake's growing sense of unease: the lady next to him busily knits with a pair of two dangerous-looking knitting needles (a hint at the only available weapon when an emergency arises?) Then there's Charlie (Michelle Ang) who is irked enough to show Jake a bit of hostility and is an unlikely source of comfort.
Finally there's an irate passenger who makes a big fuss over not wanting their flight to be grounded. The man, who is sitting right next to his wife, starts vomiting into a bag. Is there an infected individual on board? If so, how will the passengers and crew contain this impending threat?
This riveting story functions as a bridge between The Walking Dead Season 6 and Fear the Walking Dead Season 2, Variety reports. As if capitalizing on the series of airplane disasters in the past 18 months, Flight 462 explores "the world of 'Fear,'" and how things pan out at the fall of civilization, says Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV.
