Now that Frozen 2 is confirmed for a future release, the one question that remains is who will be the focus. The first film put emphasis on Anna's quest to stop Elsa from running away from her responsibilities to Arendelle. Elsa eventually comes to her senses, and at the same time accept who she is.

Lately, there has been fan speculation that Anna will have some sort of superpower of her own. If so, it will be Anna's turn to come to terms with changes. Even so, Frozen creators insist that the character is already powerful in her own right.

"We know what her superpower is: her superpower is love!" Frozen co-director Chris Buck cheekily said to HitFix. "She saves the day with love."

Unlike in previous Disney films, it is not romance that saves the day. Instead, it is sisterly love. More recently, there is also talk that Elsa will receive a love interest. For now, Disney has not confirmed who and in what form that romantic companion will be.

Will Anna Turn Villain?

Earlier in August, Movie Pilot speculated on whether Anna will be the villain instead. The theory is based on the legend of Snow Queen, in which a main character breaks away from loved ones due to a freezing heart. Anna nearly died when her heart was accidentally frozen by Elsa. Though Elsa ends up saving her sister, side effects may still be present.

Naturally, nothing is confirmed. While rumors may be fun, it is perhaps better to wait for more word from Disney.

Cast and Directors Will Definitely Be Back

In the meantime, most of the cast and crew will be reprising their roles for Frozen 2, which has a tentative release date of 2018. That means directing duo Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will be back in the directors' chair in due time.

Voice actresses Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will be returning respectively as sisters Anna and Elsa. Fans have been demanding to see both characters perform in a "Let it Go" duet. Whether Disney will caved in is the subject of speculation.

The movie will definitely see the return of lovable snowman Olaf, who is voiced by Josh Gad. Kristoff, played by Jonathan Groff, will be present.

It is uncertain whether Frozen 2 will see the return of actor Santino Fontana, who voices the villainous Hans. There have been hints that the upcoming sequel will feature an all-new villain. This does not mean Hans is gone for good, though.
