Daniel Craig needs a "reality check" following snide comments on the James Bond franchise, says Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, NME reports.
Pompeo of the hit medical drama TV series Grey's Anatomy could not help but make a remark after Craig said that he would rather "break this glass and slash my wrists" than make another Bond movie.
According to CNN, Pompeo remarked in a tweet linked to a story that mentioned Craig's hostile quotes: "This dude needs a reality check."
NME reports that Craig had made no qualms exposing his apparent disgust or seemingly hostile apathy about the James Bond franchise. He was reported to have said: "I don't know what the next step is...At the moment, we've done it. I'm not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another James Bond movie, it would only be for the money."
Pompeo apparently did not take too kindly to such an arrogantly-sounding remark. The actress plays Meredith Grey on Shonda Rhimes' Grey's Anatomy, which is a long-running and award-winning medical drama. She also appeared in Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video.
However, the actress was checked herself when someone else called her out on her tweet and warned her not to judge so hastily.
That person replied via Twitter that Craig's remarks may have been taken out of context. The scandalously-worded remarks were actually part of a longer interview, and may have been sensationalized to draw further attention to the upcoming release of the film.
Pompeo was humble enough to acknowledge that possibility. "You are absolutely right!" she replied to the Tweet. "I certainly have been there." Whether that would serve as an apology to Craig for the earlier remarks remains to be seen. It is unclear whether Craig has noticed or cared about Pompeo's remarks on his recent interview.
Craig is coming out in his fourth James Bond movie in Spectre, which will out in theaters in the UK cinemas on October 26 and globally on November 6. Craig joins the long list of suave 007 actors, including Sean Connery and Roger Moore, who each managed to fulfill the role as Ian Fleming's iconic secret agent in seven separate movies. Will Craig get three more to nab the magic number after his ungracious remarks? Time will tell.
