Anyone who put on the proverbial sackcloth and ashes when Jon Snow was stabbed by his own comrades at the Wall during the Game of Thrones season 5 ender should be feeling stupid by now.
That's because, despite repeated claims that all have seen the utter end of the dark and brooding Stark bastard, news has come out indicating the contrary.
Den of Geek sums up a series of sightings of Lord Snow: First Harrington was seen out and about with his brother at Wimbledon earlier in July, sporting the curly Stark locks that he has publicly professed to hate so much. Second, he was spotted on site in Belfast just as Game of Thrones season 6 started filming.
Reports also claim the darkly handsome Bastard of Winterfell was garbed in armor. This may have something to do with other photo stills showing a battle scene where the Mormont and Stark banner flags fly side by side. Is the North rallying behind the resurrected - Jon Stark?
For a good while now, as Den of Geek likewise affirms, every single Game of Thrones fan suspects that the real history behind Jon Snow can be summed up in the formula R+L= J, a code that proclaims that Jon's blue blood parentage involves Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen. That makes him a direct heir to the Iron Throne.
But the Huffington Post goes beyond this and puts forth that the true formula is R+L = J+M. New theories claim that at Ned's sister's deathbed, she was found not with one child, but with twins, a girl and a boy. The girl? It is none other than Jon's mirror image, Meera Reed, who was raised by Ned Stark's close friend and ally, Howland Reed. The same guy who was there at the finding of the infant Jon at Lyanna's death bed.
The new theory proposes that one child (Jon) was bundled up by the Stark patriarch while the girl was taken home by Reed. Splitting them up would protect both of the children's identities. Furthermore, a cursory glance at the two makes them top candidates for twins. Meera has the same dark curly locks and is the same age as Jon.
So does it change everything? Apparently so. This means that Meera could be the foretold third head of the dragon, or the reborn Azor Ahai. Is she the chosen one then?
We will know when GOT comes out (as reports say) on April 3, 2016. Keen fans who are planning to watch a live streaming of the upcoming season online may do so on HBO Go or HBO Now whether you have a cable account or just an internet connection.
