All roads will lead to Los Angeles on Dec. 14 as J.J. Abrams, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that the latest iteration of one of the most successful movie franchises in history, Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, will have its world premiere in the city on said date.

The Hollywood Reporter said that Star Wars original casts Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew are expected to walk the red carpet during the world premiere as their all reprised their roles in Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

Also expected to join them are John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac who play the three main protagonists in the new film, with Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow and Lupita Nyong'o.

However, getting an invite into this once-in-a-lifetime event will be more difficult than attending one of Jabba the Hutt's swinging parties. The who's who in Hollywood, particularly the A-listers crowd, will be jockeying to attend the Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens' world premiere.

But what makes the Los Angeles premiere the most coveted of all the premieres in recent Hollywood history, is because that day will be the first time that most or all of the cast will be seen together. And most importantly, Disney is trying to keep details of the movie under wraps so expect minimal screenings for the press and cast and crew.

After Los Angeles, Disney and Lucasfilm said the next premiere will be held in London followed by similar other events across the world.

But while Los Angeles will have the benefit of first screening of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens via a world premiere, the French will have the privilege of watching the new Star Wars film on Dec. 16. "Thanks to a curious French law that stipulates all films be released on a Wednesday, the film will be out in France on December 16," The Telegraph reported,

Fans of the movie in the U.S. will have to wait until Dec. 18 for the film's wider screening. The movie will be appearing in UK cinemas a day earlier, on December 17.

Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith premiered at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood Los Angeles on May 12, 2005.

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens will revolve around Luke Skywalker's family. He recently told ComicBook.com, "The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films. The Force Awakens' follows 'Return of the Jedi' and continues that generational story."
