Millions of children and child-at-heart lovers of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be disheartened to know that Toy Story 4 will not be released in 2015 as previously reported but will instead hit screens starting June 15, 2018. Disney-Pixar made the announcement this week, the Daily Mail reports.

Toy Story is top billed by Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, and Tim Allen. Toy Story 4, Game Spot reports, will be a love story about Woody and Bo Peep, who was noticeably missing in Toy Story 3. The first three films of the Toy Story franchise have been a huge hit, and the fourth one is expected to do just as well.

The good news is that other films from the animation studio are scheduled to roll out on to global screens everywhere as audiences eagerly await the comeback of the world's most famous talking toys.

The first on the list is Cars 3, starring Owen Wilson and Bonnie Hunt, which will come out on June 16, 2017. This is a long overdue third installment since the original debuted in 2006. Disney Wikia mentions that Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Pixar is already on the pre-production stage for Cars 3 and that it will take place on California's Route 99.

The second is Incredibles 2 (first released in 2004, headlined by Holly Hunter and Craig Nelson will come out on June 21, 2019. This is a very lengthy delay considering that the number of years between the two installments span 15 years, just enough time to have a new generation of viewers grow up to enjoy the film.

Game Spot also reports that Brad Bird, director of the original film, will also direct The Incredibles 2. The plot as of yet remains a mystery.

Two more animated movies are in the pipeline. The upcoming one is Pixar's Coco which will be released on November 22, 2017, while Disney Animation's Gigantic will splash the screens by March 6, 2018.
