Though American Horror Story: Hotel Season 5 has yet to start its run on October 7, the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy is so pleased with this season's outcome that he has already officially asked Lady Gaga to come back for Season 6, Variety reports.

The pleasure is by no means one sided, as Gaga herself has gushed over her involvement with American Horror Story: Hotel and her collaboration with Murphy, whom in no uncertain terms, she has heralded as a genius.

"Ryan is an extreme visionary and every year the show has become more and more interesting. The characters become more and more intense and intriguing, and this year is no exception," she recently told Hollywood Reporter.

On the surface, the plot of American Horror Story: Hotel is straightforward enough, and the premise is embued with a lot of potential for graphic savegery and fright. Countess Elizabeth (played by Lady Gaga) is a well-dressed, intimidating socialite who owns Hotel Cortez, a vintage hotel in Los Angeles which may as well be the infamous Hotel California of the same song.

Occupied by nefarious habitues who hide inside the hotel's nooks and crannies, the show's dark interiors are revealed in the teaser video marked with a dark mix of creepiness, gore and blasphemy. Shots of the macabre are revealed through the peephole of each door and are interspaced with flashes of the Ten Commandments. There are naked women with bloodied hands and stilletos, pale, child-like and monstrous creatures lying in wait within mattresses, and addicts who are either predator or prey within the hotel walls.

Apparently, Gaga's character is infected with a blood virus that drives her to seek out fresh human blood in order to survive and remain young. She is surrounded by other characters with the same condition:  Donovan who lives at the hotel and is also the countess' lover (Matt Bomer) as well as male model Tristan (Finn Wittrock), are likewise driven to consume blood in order to live.

Viewers will also get acquainted with Sarah Paulson who is a drug addict named Hypodermic Sally. To get the story going, detective John Lowe (Wes Bentley) will investigate a string of murders at the hotel and will get him face time with some of the nastiest horrors he has yet to encounter.

For Gaga, the whole American Horror Story is not just shock and gore. "There is a journey for my character, in particular, through hemophilia and her need to drink blood to survive and to stay young, and that's entwined with other stories about a need for sex, a need for freedom, a need for drugs, a need for attention, a need to survive," she tells the Hollywood Reporter.

She thinks that the story is anchored on the theme of addiction. "The story Ryan Murphy is telling about is our own narcissism... how the human being strives to survive and the challenges of the universe - that's me and that's what makes the sex so good."
