While many loyal viewers thought that the worst has passed for TLC's largest and most conservative reality TV family 19 Kids and Counting, it seems that there are still snags that are pulling the Duggar family down, and this includes the lack of remorse and good will from the Duggar black sheep, Josh, as ETonline reports.
19 Kids and Counting may have seen its death toll in May of this year, but this is definitely not the end of the Duggar family, thanks to a promising spin-off starring two of the Duggar sisters, Jessa and Jill. And it's a development that Josh Duggar, the proverbial straw that broke the horse's back, may not be too excited about.
2014 and 2015 saw some of the most aggressive mud slings thrown at TV's all-American, devout Baptist family, including a host of negative public feedback for their stance on LGBT and same-sex marriage issues. But it was the sexual molestation and Ashley Madison allegations pitted against the eldest Duggar son, Josh Duggar, that hammered in the final nail in the coffin of the reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting that has been enjoying wide viewership since 2008.
While 19 Kids and Counting banked on ratings from an audience that supported and applauded strict family values and principles modeled on the Christian faith, outing Josh as a child molester who victimized some of his own younger siblings was a development that caused the show to finally cave in, as no less than 20 advertisers pulled out their sponsorship from the show, thus effectively ending a lucrative set up for a huge family.
A public statement released by the family on their official Facebook page summarized a heartfelt apology and an explanation from the parents and from Josh himself. But a more recent report from ETonline shows that instead of the sincerely apologetic public persona, a source close to the family reveals that the real Josh has no remorse and has even made light of the allegations through crass jokes.
And now that his sisters stand a chance to start anew with a potentially multi-million dollar television spin-off, Josh is reportedly angry, and may be feeling that his family has profited from his failings.
Nevertheless, the new spin-off is raking in positive support. KDramastars reports that Jessa and Jill Duggar's reality show will revolve around each sister's new life as wife and mother. Both are new mothers, having given birth to babies this year. Reports quote that new and exciting developments are underway as Jill has plans to move to Central America with her young family.
