Pirates of the Caribbean Star Johnny Depp Concerned over Daughter Lily-Rose's Budding Fashion Career

At 16, any upstart would envy the pace at which Lily-Rose Depp's career is skyrocketing. And it's not something that her father, Golden Globe awardee Johnny Depp is particularly happy about.

Lily-Rose has literally gone from being the obscure and awkward offspring of the Pirates of the Caribbean star and his estranged wife, the French actress-singer Vanessa Paradis, to being the face of glamor and high couture. But instead of rejoicing, Depp has actually said he is quite "worried," People reports. Why, is anyone's guess, but Depp's main reason is that the Lily-Rose's success has caught him off guard. He is reported to have said: "I wasn't expecting all this to happen to Lily-Rose, especially not at this age. But it's her passion and she's having fun."  Perhaps a matter of too much too soon?

Lily-Rose, Depp's eldest child with the French crooner has apparently taken after her three-time Oscar nominee father and equally talented mother. This year alone, the Daily Mail reports that the Chanel's Pearl eyewear model has already posed in an LGBT-Q photography campaign and has starred in a feature film directed by Kevin Smith. The horror-comedy film, Yoga Hosers, also stars Depp, and is about two girls who must face a hellish troupe when they go to a senior party.

Lily-Rose's career trajectory, though seemingly speedy for one so young, makes sense. The teen's campaign for Chanel's jewel-encrusted eyewear collection has become hugely successful, one that featured a very sophisticated Lily-Rose sporting a velvety plum pout and blond, tousled locks. Prior to this, the precocious youth and her mother walked side by side the Chanel Haute Couture in July. Thus, many are expecting Lily-Rose to grace the catwalk at the upcoming Paris Fashion Week.

Perhaps the most promising development in the life of Depp's firstborn is her current involvement alongside Natalie Portman in the new movie Planetarium in Paris. Recently, the Daily Mail caught her smoothly drawing from a cigarette during the shoot, exquisitely dressed in the elegance of the 1930s.

The Daily Mail further reports that Portman and Depp will play two sisters who have the power to communicate with the dead. The Rebecca Zlotowski film will also involve The Returned's Robin Campillo. The film may be released by May of 2016; all of which indicate an entirely promising start for a very young talent.
