Duchess of Cambridge Visits Set of Downtown Abbey: Kate Middleton Attends 2015 Rugby World Cup With Prince William

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has returned to her royal duties after months of absence from the public eye. And contrary to earlier rumors of trouble brewing in Cambridge, Kate and husband, William, the Duke of Cambridge, were spotted watching the 2015 Rugby World Cup opening ceremony in Twickenham, England on Friday.

Witnesses described the royal couple sweetly in love during the game between England and Fiji, reported iSchoolGuide.

This was the first public event the Duke and the Duchess attended after Kate returned to her royal duties since taking a maternity leave four months ago, said Inquisitr. Kate has not attended any royal duties since giving birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte on May.

However, it was the Duchess' second major royal activity since the birth of Princess Charlotte.

The royal coupled seemed to have enjoyed the game as they were spotted smiling and sharing secrets with each other. In some instances, the Duchess was seen whispering something into her husband's ear in an engaging moment.

The Kate and William also enjoyed the rugby match and were interested with the match. The royal couple was later joined by Prince Harry who was sporting a bushy beard and was enthusiastically supporting Team GB.

The 33-year-old Kate was wearing a bright blue Reiss coat and sporting new bangs, while Prince William wore a navy blue suit and printed tie.

Looking from the sweet exchanges of stares between the royal couple, it seems they have patched up any marital problem they have had and are truly in love. The sweet couple was the center of attention during the game, reported ET Online.

Kate Visits Set of Downtown Abbey

Reports have indicated that the Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fan of the British show Downtown Abbey and she visited the show, albeit much longer than expected, in March, various media reported.

Casts of the show claimed they were star-struck with the visit of Kate that they "all lost their minds," said Dispatch Times.

Actress Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith in the series, said "We all lost our minds. We started talking to her about the catering - I'm sure things she found really boring but we all sort of lost it because we were panicked and star-struck. It was one of those weird ones."

Another star of the show Jim Carter, who plays Mr. Carson, claimed the Duchess might have been too excited during her visit. Carter said, "I don't think she'd been on a film set before, or a TV set, so she was intrigued by how different it looked on the screen and in reality. She overstayed. She stayed long. She was having such a good time."
